Powered Uniden R-Series compatible mount. RJ11 terminated wire with Radar Detector holder. It requires a swivel mount and other hardware that ship with the R4/R7/R8.

4-Pin Variant Wires: Includes 4 short leads (10cm+ each) for wiring/soldering to your remote mute switch.

Isopropyl alcohol prep wipe - to clean the windscreen for the strongest possible bond.

A 12V power source (hardwire installation recommended).

Note: You will need to transfer over your square neck screw, thumb screw and pivoting mount.

Important: 2-Pin and 4-Pin systems are not cross-compatible. Your detector, mount, and power cable must all use the same pin configuration.

2-Pin (Power Only): Your detector functions as it does today. All functions on the detector work. No remote mute switch.
4-Pin (Power + Mute/Alert/Data): Allows you to use a remote mute hardwire kit.

Know your mount - 2-Pin vs 4-Pin

2-Pin

Power only - your detector runs and functions as normal. Best for simple hardwire installs.

4-Pin

Power + data - required for the Escort Smart Cord, Uniden Remote Mute Kit or Valentine One ESP accessories.

2-Pin and 4-Pin are not interchangeable — forcing a mismatched connection can damage your detector.

Frequently asked questions

Are 2-Pin and 4-Pin mounts interchangeable?

No. They are completely non-interchangeable. They use different physical connectors and internal layouts. Mixing components or forcing a mismatched connection can permanently damage your radar detector.

Does my detector still fully function on 2-Pin?

Yes. All on-device features (Mute, Mark, top buttons, display, and audio alerts) work perfectly normal on both versions. "No alert out" simply means the 2-Pin mount cannot send signals to external, separate dash accessories (like a remote mute button or motorcycle helmet link).

Which one do I need?

4-Pin (Power + Data)	Required if you are using the manufacturer's factory "smart" hardwire kit with a remote mute button.	Uniden R4 / R7 / R8 / R8NZ, Escort EZ Mag, V1 Gen 2.

⚠️ Bottom Line: If you want to use a Escort Smart Cord, Uniden Remote Mute Kit or Valentine One ESP Devices and are comfortable with soldering wires get the 4-pin. Otherwise, the standard 2-pin is fine for most users, If still unsure, message us before buying. 😊

The perfect radar detector mount for my Tesla Model Y.

I initially ordered the mount with the mirror tap, only to find there was not enough power behind the mirror on the 2026 Tesla Model Y Juniper. I sent an email to support on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised to get a response in minutes. After a chat, I decided to order the quick-connect power lead as I needed to get power from elsewhere on the car.

I also ordered the Trailer Brake Harness from Tesla (Part Number: 1072586-00-A | Description: ASY, HARN, TRAILER BRAKE ECU ADAPTER) so I did not need to cut any wires, etc., and this was the cleanest way to get power from the car. A word of warning though, this harness connection is on the driver’s side whether the car is LHD or RHD. Do not do what I did and disassemble the trim on the left side to find the connection wasn’t there! Thankfully, the driver’s side is much easier to take apart and put back together. I have included a picture with the harness socket location.

Getting the wiring up the A-pillar behind the airbag was easy, and I now have the perfect mounting and power connection to my Uniden R8NZ. It is so much easier to use than the original suction mount. With my mounting location I can still use the sun visor fully as well.

My only wish would be to have all the hardware included in this kit and not to need to scavenge parts from the suction mount as I can no longer use that for temp usage in rental vehicles!

Great bit of kit. So easy to remove and remount. I still have the second base to mount in the other car but easy process. For a hard wired solution very economical, especially with the extra base mount.
