Detector mount - install guide · Beginner · 1 minute

Step 01 - Remove

Remove the factory mount

Detach the original suction cup arm from your detector completely. The RAD MAG detector mount replaces it entirely using the same screw point - no extra tools needed.

Step 02 - Fit

Attach the RAD MAG arm

Screw the RAD MAG detector mount into your detector's existing thread. Check orientation: the lip should face the driver and the RJ11 cable exit should point toward the detector's power port.

Step 03 - Snap in

Clip onto the receiver

Slide the detector arm down onto the receiver mount on your windscreen. It locks in with a positive click and releases with one hand - in or out in under a second.

Installation Steps

1

Unbox & check the kit

Your RAD MAG Detector Mount comes a QR code with instructions on how to install. Decide on your installation method and follow the steps below to attach the RAD MAG mount to your detector.

2

Remove the factory suction cup

Detach your radar detector from its original suction cup mount. The RAD MAG replaces that part entirely — you won't be using the suction cup again.

3

Fit the RAD MAG mount

Attach the RAD MAG Detector Mount to your detector following the video above. It locks into place using your detector's existing mounting point and screw.

4

Snap onto the windscreen receiver

The mount slides into and out of the RAD MAG windscreen receiver in seconds — no fumbling with suction cups, no failures on hot days. You're done.

💡
Pro tip: Before pressing the mount down, double-check orientation — the lip should face the driver, and the RJ11 cable exit hole should point toward the power port of the detector.

Good to know

A few things worth checking

Check orientation
The lip faces toward the driver. The RJ11 cable exit should point toward the detector's power port. A reversed arm still snaps on, but the cable won't reach the connector.
24 hrs before loading
Don't load the detector onto the receiver until it's had 24 hours on the glass. The 3M VHB tape reaches full bond strength at 72 hours - the first day is the most critical.
30-day guarantee
Mount it, drive it. If the RAD MAG isn't the right fit for your vehicle or detector, send it back within 30 days for a full refund - no questions asked.

Don't forget to prep the glass.

If you're also mounting the receiver on your windscreen, use the included isopropyl prep wipe first. Clean glass means a dramatically stronger 3M VHB bond. See the complete receiver install guide for the full step-by-step.
