12V Bare Wire & Ground Loop (2.5m)

  • 1 x power pigtail - around 2.5 metres of twin red and black cable, with a ring-terminal ground loop and a bare 12V tail.

Mirror Tap Spade Terminals (40cm)

  • 1 x power pigtail - around 40cm long, terminating in two back-probe spade terminals.

Both versions include

  • 1 x D2 quick-splice crimp connector, already fitted to the receiver end.
  • 1 x spare D2 quick-splice crimp connector, for the receiver end of your own cable.

Power pigtail only. The powered receiver, detector mount and fuse tap are sold separately.
What You Need

Both versions: a RAD MAG powered receiver to plug into, and a crimp tool if you are fitting the spare connector to your own cable.

For the 12V hardwire version:

  • A switched 12V source - a fuse tap is the tidiest way to get one.
  • A solid chassis earth point for the ground loop, and a spanner or socket for the bolt.

For the mirror tap version:

  • A powered rearview mirror with a 12V feed running to it.
  • Access to the back of the mirror's connector, so the spade terminals can be back-probed into it.
  • A multimeter to confirm the feed is actually 12V before you connect.

Switched 12V only: wire to a source that switches off with the ignition. A constant live feed will drain your battery overnight.

Wiring it in

Step 01

Find your power

Hardwire to a switched 12V source and a chassis earth, or tap the feed at your powered mirror.

Step 02

Join the two halves

Crimp the spare D2 connector onto your receiver cable, then push the two halves together.

Step 03

Tuck it in and drive

Tuck the cable into the trim, snap your detector on and you're protected.

How does the pigtail connect to my receiver?

The pigtail already has a D2 quick-splice crimp connector fitted to the receiver end. A spare, matching connector ships in the box - crimp that one onto the cable coming off your powered receiver, then push the two halves together. That join becomes your quick disconnect, so the receiver can be unplugged without touching the wiring again.
